Lemon Pie
Bertha's Lemon Pie
Ingredients
- Store Bought Crust
- Pie Filling:
- - 2 boxes lemon pie filling
- - 6 egg yolks (beaten)
- - 1 cup sugar
- - 1 cup cold water
- - 4 cups hot water
- Meringue:
- - 6 egg whites
- - 2 tablespoons sugar
Instructions
1. Bake crust according to instructions on store bought pie crust.
2. Cook pie filling on the stove until thickened.
3. Pour into baked crust.
4. Beat egg whites and sugar until peaks form.
5. Spread meringue onto pie.
6. Bake at 350 degrees until meringue is lightly brown.
